Presenting
you the world's first CNG scooter. TVS Jupiter launched the world's
first CNG scooter. Its name is TS5. Basically, earlier, only petrol
option was available in it. But now CNG plus petrol option has started
coming, but this thing has not been launched. Do keep this in mind that
it has been showcased as a concept at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo.
Launch Timeline and Mileage
There is some time for its launch. It will be done soon. But the interesting thing is that it can run 84 kms on 1 kg of CNG. But keep this thing in mind that the CNG tank is not very big, it only 1.4 kg due to which you will be able to run 117 km on CNG and if we talk about petrol, then here you are offered a 2 liter petrol tank like combined.
The range becomes around 200-230 if both the things are filled, but anyway, let's discuss it in some detail.
Design and Features
So overall you know about TVS Jupiter, where you get LED lights as well, you get bulb style indicators. This is also available in this color, in common.
There
is no difference, but there is a disadvantage of CNG, just like the
boot space gets exhausted in vehicles, similarly the storage space gets
exhausted here too.
Unfortunately now because the tank is here
you do not get any storage space here which means you won't be able to
keep your helmet here or vegetables or anything else. Sometimes people
are able to keep their purses, laptop bags, etc., but unfortunately now
that thing will not be possible here.
CNG Tank and Fueling Details
Interesting
is that here you are also given a pressure coach through which you will
get to know how much pressure is there in CNG and apart from that you
will also get to see the nozzle of CNG from where you can fill it in
your CNG tank.
You will be able to fill CNG only. If it is a 1.4 cage then it will get filled quickly and will not take much time.
Performance and Drawbacks
The main interesting factor is the drawback, which is that you will not get any place to keep luggage inside, there is no under seat, you will have to keep it in front.
You will get the option of filling petrol, earlier there was a petrol tank of 5.1 liters, but now it has become 2 liters.
Apart
from that, rest of the options are same as you get a hook, there is
storage in front to keep things, you can keep your phone here, you can
also plug it in charging, there is no change in cluster etc.
Top Speed and Engine
The
company says it will offer you a top speed of 80 kmph. The engine will
be of 125cc only. There is no difference in power etc. Usually the power
reduces a lot in CNG, but it will not happen in this case because it is
a scooter.
Conclusion
If CNG is used in vehicles, then at least the boot space would be less, so keep that thing in mind. How did you like the TVS CNG, world's first electric scooter with 125cc engine? Do share your opinion by commenting below. We personally believe it can be a good thing.
But yes, little more improvement is needed because the space is completely over, and we will be looking forward to seeing more CNG scooters and bikes all around the world. What do you think? Do let us know by commenting. Drive, safe.
